Red berry and Chia Jam/ fruit pot
INGREDIENTS (SERVES 2-3)
1 apples, peeled, cored, quartered and sliced
1 pears peeled, cored, quartered and sliced
you can add more berries if you prefer
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
a bit of honey if the berries aren't sweet enough
1/2 -1 a cup of water
about 1/2-1 tsp of lemon juice
1-2 large table spoon chia seeds
put everything into a pan
Cook them until the fruit is soft.
Mash them slightly with a fork or in a blender
Pour them into a jam jar and add your chia seeds (if you like your jam a little runny then add 1 tbsp but if you want it to be more jelly like add 2 maybe even 3 depending on how much jam you made)
Let the jam cool and it is ready to eat
Keep it in the fridge - should keep for about 3-5 days.
make sure you taste your jam before it is finished cooking as you might need to add a little extra sweetness depending on our berries.
